Week 7 One Room Challenge – The Reveal

It’s the last day to submit the reveal post  (the last 45 minutes ) in fact, and I’m rushing to complete this post in time. Soo the plan is to drop my photos in before the clock strikes midnight and come back to it when I have a minute to write it properly. Think of this as a placeholder post.

I will quickly say though. that I’ve loved this whole process of engaging in the One Room  Challenge.  It’s such a buzz to be completing the room with other participants who are egging each other on and who are going through similar things.

A quick reminder of what the rooftop looked like before the transformation.

And afterwards…totally transformed.  I couldn’t be happier with the way the rooftop has turned out.  It is everything I imagined.  It’s bright, yet tranquil, thanks to the abundance of lush plants.  It also has an element of fun, with the happy Buddha statues and water fountain.  I love  that it has a feel of Bali, with the traditional furniture and the fabrics, and the rug adds a pop of colour that pulls everything together.

Here are a few pictures  of the alfresco area.

The rooftop is built in an L shape.  Here is the other side which is used to house the sofa, and daybed.

I love all the small details that help bring the space alive, including the lanterns, the incense holder (my absolute favourite), and the colourful pots.

The view of the mural wall blends perfectly with the aesthetic of the rooftop. I’m so pleased we made the decision to do this have this wall painted.

There is also a Youtube Video out on the behind the scene process, so if you’re wanting more details, check out the video here

Most of the other participants have completed their rooms too.  Be sure to check them out here. A big thanks to One Room Challenge  for hosting this event as well as to Apartment Therapy as the publication sponsor. Another great event and I look forward to participating in the next challenge.

Let me know what you think of the space in the comments or if you have any questions
